Jake Morales graduated from the University of Asia and the Pacific, with a Master’s Degree in Integrated Marketing Communications. Soon after, he pursued a career in DDB Philippines as a copywriter working on both digital and above the line campaigns for some of the country’s biggest brands. This also began his love for advertising film, as he got more immersed in different productions.
He later joined Bates CHI & Partners under the Ogilvy and Mather Philippines Group, further honing his skills in copywriting and creative direction, where he used his developing cinematography and video editing skills to help sell his ideas to his clients.
After having conceptualised numerous TVCs and online videos, he finally decided that after four years, it was time to pursue a career in Film Directing.
He was given the opportunity to pursue his passion as he became the In-house Director and Production Lead for Ogilvy and Mather Philippines’ production arm. Within just a few months, his film portfolio started growing, as he began directing online videos for Ogilvy’s multi-national brands.
His film works showcase his liking towards dramatic and crisp visuals, but his love for narratives is also showcased in his comedic commercial works.
In 2018, he joined Yellow Brick Road Productions as one of their in-house directors, hungry for cinematic creativity.
